Sandwich-Das Sandwich Board of Health has granted permission to create a common basic cape code in order to stop a long-standing program for the water body test.

The effects on public meetings caused by the Covid 19 pandemic delay the approval of the healthcare system by the JBCC in relation to Snake Pond in Forestdale.

The board of directors announced a connection for a common basis last summer that all historical samples from Snake-Teich for explosives and perchlorate chemicals have either returned as inconspicuous or trace quantities.

Officials have repeatedly stated that the pond is safe for leisure use.

The efforts to remove pollution on the common basis have not been completed for decades. In 2023, the EPA said that parts of Cape Cod's single source groundwater conductor were contaminated by fuel pollution and training activities at the location.

Last September, governor Maura Healey blocked a proposed National Guard range at the base, which was exposed to the perceived threat to the drinking water supply on site.
