The Elk Valley Hospice is incredibly proud to announce The installation of three windphones in the Elk Valley.
What is a windphone you ask?
A windphone is a non -connected phone that offers a quiet, reflective space for losses. When you pick up the recipient, you will be invited to speak to your loved ones – thoughts, memories, grief or love – and take these words with you on the wind.
Where do you find you?
- Elkford – Boivin Peace Park (withdrawn from the entrance, past the first trees).
- Sparwood – Lions Park (south end of the paved loop).
- Fernie – Annex Park (near the duck pond).
This project was a real community cooperation and we are incredibly grateful to all organizations, civil servants and community members who made it possible:
We are working on the signage for the hospice room and look forward to sharing this project with you in the near future.
The windphone comes from Japan and has a nice and touching story. You can learn me more mywindphone.com
May these wind phones offer a gentle space for connection, healing, memory and love. May you let your words carry with the wind.
