Fuel Cells Works reports that Vinci airports have signed an agreement with H2V and Hy2Gen to examine the production and use of synthetic sustainable aviation materials (E-SAF) by 2030. The initiative will help to ensure that the airports achieve their net zero emission goal.

The agreement initially works at Vinci airports such as Lyon-Saint Exupéry, Lyon Bron and Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne airports and extends to their Grenoble, Annecy and Chambéry in a second phase.

The use of E-SAF for aircraft is a significant decision for the environment because they are made from low-carbon hydrogen that can reduce carbon pollution by 86%, as reported by fuel cells. According to Greenly, kerosene releases sulfur and nitrogen oxides, which can lead to acidic rain that damages vegetation and causes people's breathing problems.

When switching kerosene to this environmentally friendly fuel, the existing facilities or drive systems are not necessary, which makes the switch faster and without additional financial burden. The transition can save money because it depends on crude oil, a dirty fuel that has been broken down by the earth that can differ based on the global oil markets.

It is one of many steps that Vinci's airports have undertaken in its commitment to decarbonization.

This implementation includes the reduction of CO2 trail through the operation by more electrifying and adapting the landing fees based on the carbon emission rates of this airline. The operator also promotes environmentally friendly transport to your airports by public transport and several charging stations for electric vehicles.

These steps of Vinci airports are an example of material environmentally friendly movements from mainstream companies that do not simply carry out greenwashing marketing. The Mondi Group has teamed up with the WORLD FOOD Program of the United Nations in order to create more sustainable packaging for food aid. Japan's largest oil refiner collects money for clean alternative fuels by selling 460 shares from a subsidiary. Automobile giants Honda and Nissan merge in order to create more advanced EVS in the third largest car manufacturer.

Regardless of whether you fly, drive or donate for humanitarian relief, it has become easier to do this and also support a cleaner and healing planet.
