The VDA, Varanasi Municipal Corporation and Sadar Tehsil Revenue Department officials are conducting on-site soil survey of the width of the river in its entire flow area and pond areas in the catchment area. The VDA authorities said this has been cemented. The poles will be installed after identification at the site and will be marked with “AN” (Assi Nadi) and numbers on 60 poles. Red markings for construction work will also be placed on the site of the Assi River and the ponds in its catchment area to inform the public about the width of the river recorded in the tax documents and to prevent future encroachments. So far, the joint team of VDA, VMC and Finance Department has completed the survey and delineation of land ownership and revenue records at the initial locations of Assi river area and near Kardameshwar pond and ponds in Kandwa and Kanchanpur. Poles were also set up at the edges of the pond. The joint team continuously carries out the survey and mast installation work.
