Suggestions to improve sports facilities in two parks in Birmingham should receive green light.

The Cricket board of England and Wales has approved an assignment of almost £ 200,000 for the Birmingham City Council, which is issued for two locations – Sparkhill Park and Small Heath Park.

A new four-lane cricket exercise system would be installed in the work in Sparkhill Park, which would include ball stop networks and non-turf parking spaces within the park.

In the meantime, the small Heath Park would be renovated in the existing area of multi-purpose games with new fences, renovated rebound walls and decorative graphics in order to “revitalize” the hardcourt area.

The Council's trust and charity committee, before a session this week, was recommended to approved the development of the two projects and the investment of the funding financing.

“The offer of the subsidies will improve the recreational value of the country -based country,” says a report by the Council. “Therefore, the trust and charity committee will recognize a very welcome advantage of the community by supporting this investment.”

It continued that the option of averting the range of sponsors had been considered due to the risk of a lack of “revenue resources” to maintain the new facility.

“However, the benefit of the community would not be realized if this option were followed,” she continued.

“It was therefore submitted that the work to develop a plan for future management and maintenance of institutions, including a managed booking system, will be achieved to achieve income.”

A “falling fund” would also be set up to cover the costs of potential future repairs and replacement infrastructures.

A planning report added that the new cricket facility in Sparkhill Park “would be an advantage for the development of Cricket in an area with high demand from the local community.

In the application, an existing cricket practice cage said for two lanes in the park, “the end of his maintenance life would be achieved” and would be removed so that the area could be “reinstated” with wild flowers.

“The local friends of Sparkhill Park support the proposal very much and were consulted before this application for planning,” he continued.

The projects and the assignment of the scholarships of 199,000 GBP are to be discussed tomorrow, July 30th, at a meeting of the Trust and Charity Committee.
