Tornado tear roofs Structures in the Oxnard Mobile Home Park, Topples power lines, National Weather Service confirmed

Oxnard, California (KABC) – A Tornado tore off the roofs of several structures in a mobile home park in Oxnard on Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed.

The damage occurred on the mobile home goods in the Ocean-Aire near the intersection of Oxnard Boulevard and Pleasant Valley Road.

There were no injuries in what the weather service described as an “extreme wind event”.

At least a dozen structures were damaged, including awnings and carports. No residents were expelled, said a spokesman for the city of Oxnard.

The power supply was temporarily switched off in the mobile home park before it was restored.

On Friday, Ariel Cohen, a spokesman for the weather service, said the agency officially found that a tornado had taken place.

The damage “agreed with a tornado that had wind speeds somewhere between 75 and 90 miles per hour,” Cohen told ABC7 in an interview on site.
