The bedroom design of a student is recreated in an exhibition house.
Fifty -forty -five students from the years six to eight at the South Lee Prep School in Bury St. Edmunds were asked to design a child's bedroom for one of the exhibition houses in the development of Denbury Homes St. Edmunds Gate.
The school in the closer selection of 10 designs for Denbury Homes and its interior design Rendall & Wright to select a winner.
The winning design was Maggie P. until eight -year -old student Maggie P.

Sara Raven, sales and marketing director at Denbury Homes, said: “We were so impressed by the quality of the designs that the children presented, they accepted the challenge, carefully listened to the letter and developed some really creative and exciting ideas .
“It was a very difficult choice, there were definitely some prospective designers at work.
“However, Maggie's idea was noticeable, her striking rainbow wall picture is a beautiful design that gives the room a lot of character without being overwhelming.
“The professional designers of Rendall & Wright are now working to bring Maggie's ideas for life.
“We can hardly wait for Maggie to see the finished space when we open the show home in March 2025.”
Sarah Catchpole, head of South Lee Prep School & Nurery, said: “I am very proud of the enthusiasm with which the children have taken on this task.
“It was an invaluable experience for our students and gives them the opportunity to apply their creativity to a real challenge.

The show home that will be the second, which will open in Denbury Homes' flagship at St. Edmunds Gate, will be a town house with three bedrooms.
Denbury Homes will invite Maggie and some of her students to be part of the official opening.
The first show house at St. Edmunds Gate was opened in January 2025 and is open all week through the advertisement.
