The remains of a human skeleton were discovered in the garden of a bungalow, while the homeowner tried to land his garden.
The dark discovery was made by a man who gave his garden in the Sleepy Lincolnshire -dorf Ancaster.
The police and forensics plunged into small dead end after the skeleton was found on Saturday afternoon.
It is not known how old the remains were and the formal identification had not yet taken place, the police said.
A white tent, which was built in a garden of one of the bungalow of the 1960s, was still seen on Sunday morning.
Neighbor Malcolm Lister, 82, said that the homeowner did not live there for long and found the bones while he landed his garden.
He said: “There were two police cars and four vans here, and the crime scene -investigation unit also appeared. They went in and looked at it, but we really don't know what's going on. '
'She [the owners] I wasn't there long. This is a calm area – we know people from a view and one or two by name, except that everyone keeps themselves, «continued Mr. Lister.

In a house in Ancaster, Lancashire, a skeleton was found and forces the police to start an urgent probe

The skeleton was reported to the police yesterday after being discovered by a member of the public
Ancaster is a settlement from the Roman period and has 1,000 inhabitants. But the residents are not convinced that this would be an archaeological find.
Mr. Lister said he had told the police that the bones were “not ancient”.
Another resident who did not want to be named said that the discovery was outside the scope of the Roman settlement.
Maureen and Bill Higgins, 76 and 78, live next to the house where the remains were discovered. They lived in the area for four years and described it as “calm”.
Mr. Higgins said: “Nothing happens here – we just hope that it is someone who has been there for a long time. It could be Roman.
“We just asked ourselves what was going on when we saw the police. [The resident] Sorted out his garden and he dug up a few bones.
“There was an older man who previously lived here.

Another neighbor said the scene was like the BBC drama “silent witness”.
“I lived here for 16 years and nothing of the sort has ever happened before. The time team was here before, so I would say that it is probably Roman. It's a quiet village, ”he added.
The police have not announced when arrests were made, just that an examination is not completed.
A visible police presence remains close to the scene when exams occur.
A spokesman for the Lincolnshire police said: “We are examining after the remains of a human skeleton were discovered in Ancaster.
The officers were called to a property in Brookside Close, where the bones were discovered by members of the public.
At this stage it is not known how old these remains are, and a formal identification still has to take place.
“There will be a visible police presence in the area if we continue to examine the scene.
“We will publish updates if we have them.”
