The historical church is completely reopened after decorative wood has fallen out of height

A church has completely reopened after a decorative piece of wood has fallen from a “high level”.

A partial closure was set up in the Holy Trinity Church in Long Melford, in which the nave was closed to the public on Tuesday, July 8th to enable a security inspection.

An incident followed in which a decorative piece of wood fell from a height.

After he was closed for a little more than three weeks, a spokesman for the church confirmed again on Friday.

“After a security inspection that has now been carried out, we look forward to reporting that the Holy Trinity Church is now completely open,” says an explanation.

An earlier contribution on social media said that he cannot risk “large pieces of decorative wood that fall from up to 11 m until they were all physically checked”.

The Lady Chapel was open to visitors during the closure.

It is believed that the Church of the Holy Trinity is one of the longest in a parish church in the country.
