The changing landscape of health payments

Christoph Daankert, Chief Network Officer from Carrum Health recently sat down with Managed Healthcare Executive in order to discuss the dynamics of the medical reimbursement rates across commercial and state insurance areas, whereby the financial pressure and the strategic challenges in the development of medicar, medicaid and employers are accommodated.

“Carrum Health is located in the commercial area, and historically, the reimbursement rates between commercial space and government room such as Medicare and Medicaid gave a certain dichotomy,” said Dankert in a video interview. “The way we think about it on the commercial side is when I am a provider and the reimbursement of my state reimbursement, those who were previously covered could move into the non -insured pool. This effectively reduces the reimbursement that I get in this segment of the population.”

Apart from the potential pressure by reimbursement rates, it is of the opinion that commercial health networks are well isolated from direct political changes and that instead can concentrate on the employer.
