A Tashlich pond in the Albany Avenue near the Montgomery Street in Crown Heights was filled with fishing in front of Rosh Hashana.
Sponsored and organized by Philanthrop R ' Dovid And Gittel FischerBuilt by residents Mordy connectedThe new pond offers the locals and guests the urgently needed place to recite Taschlich.
This place in the heart of Crown Heights is also helpful for older people and those who find it difficult to go to the Eastern Parkway for this side of the neighborhood.
The organizers ask that strollers should be held on the right side of the Tashliach (towards Empire BLVD). The men's section is on the left side of Taslich (closer to the Montgomery Street).
With the large crowds that gather, we ask everyone to follow these guidelines in order to create a modest, respectful and pleasant experience for everyone.
A big thank you to the organizers and partners who enable this: Mordy connected – event coordination, Mendy Hershkop – Shomrim, Sgt. Mike Baratta and officer Conners – NYPD 71. District.
The Tashlich pond on the 770 Eastern Parkway, which the Rebbe used, is usually packed by Rosh Hashana in the afternoon when we have the custom of visiting and reciting a Tefillah and symbolically throwing away our sins.
A second smaller pond that was built on the veranda outside the 770 section of women a few years ago is also very overcrowded. The thousands of residents and guests arrive on the same day to watch the custom.
