More than 100 people attended an energy company meeting in Red Lodge, Suffolk, in March 2022, with some having to stand outside for two hours because the place was full.
Residents said they were concerned about the size of the site, its location and the use of farmland for the project.
Say No to Sunnica chairwoman Catherine Judkins said villagers were “quite shocked” when the scheme was approved.
“This land can be used to grow high-value crops,” she said.
“It [solar] can be installed on roofs, car parks, brownfield sites, we have landfill coverage, not to mention there are over 600,000 acres of south facing commercial roofs in the UK.”
