Russell Landscape Group, a portfolio company of Sterling Group, has acquired Utz Environmental Services, an Austin-based provider of commercial landscaping services. No financial details were disclosed.
Based in Sugar Hill, Georgia, Russell is a provider of commercial landscaping and construction services.
Russell has completed its fifth acquisition since Sterling's initial investment in 2024.
With five acquisitions in the last 18 months, Russell has expanded its footprint in six states: Texas, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina.
“We are pleased with the progress Teddy and the Russell team have made over the last year and a half. With these acquisitions, Russell has partnered with best-in-class local operators and quickly scaled the business, providing a solid foundation for implementing additional value creation initiatives,” Lucas Cutler, partner at Sterling's Foundation Fund, said in a statement.
Utz was founded in 1995.
