The finalists were announced for the Sustainability Strategy Award sponsored by Associated British Ports at the East Anglia Clean & Green Awards 2025.
Every finalist in this category was recognized as a central part of its broader business strategy for his efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Eighth
Axter in Ipswich, Suffolk, specializing in the design and specification of flat roof sealing systems.
The B-Corp-certified company is an expert for sustainable roof solutions, including green roofs, blue roofs and solar PV.
By 2030, the company aims to reduce the CO2 emissions of direct (riflescope 1 and 2) by 73% and the indirect (area 3) by 50%. This includes a complete transition to electric vehicles and uses Omore as 50% of renewable energies.
The judges said that Axter had determined strong foundations in Ipswich and Suffolk, which shows a “commendable commitment to his community and the environment”.
The effective public relations and strategy of the company to channel profits in the community were identified as “outstanding features”.

Saul D Humphrey (SDH) is a building advice in Norfolk, which is intended to promote and deliver sustainable development in the built environment.
Under the direction of Professor Saul Humphrey, the company based in Norwich manages large, complex construction projects with a focus on all goals of the UN sustainable development.
The SDH office is a wood-based wooden structure, which is driven by renewable electricity and heated by an air source heat pump.
The judges described the SDH's sustainability strategy as “very impressive and meticulously processed”.
They said it was great to see that SDH learns from others to improve the strategy and add new goals, with valuable input from an advisory committee.

Shred Station in Norwich, Norfolk, is an independent shredding and a safe destructive business.
As a lifelong company, with carbon -neutral -certified company, the company focuses on sustainability at the focus of every commercial decision it makes. Since the company's turnover became an annual CO2 -neutral certification in 2019.
Shred station monitors carbon production all year round and enables him to advance or scale projects in order to reach the sustainability goals and reach zero by 2030.
The company has successfully reduced emissions since 2020 – to intensity.
The judges said the Shred station showed the advantages of the “right” in relation to sustainability and added that “reaching zero waste on landfills is particularly noteworthy”.
