Non -profit organization that asks for help after landscape design

Wausau, Wisconsin (WSAW) – employees of adaptive communities found their landscape design out on Monday morning and kicked with feet.

The non -profit organization is a social activity center for adults with special needs. Many of the facilities had been looked after by the organization's garden classes.

“If I have to say that her hard work has been taken for granted and destroyed, it really breaks our heart,” said Anissa Reamer, Adaptive Communities, Anissa Reamer.

After the group had posted the damage of their Facebook page, the community members offered their time, materials and donations.

“We already had a woman yesterday and she brought us a little mulch, she brought plants out of her house and she even bought a few plants,” said Reamer.

The adaptive communities had moved to their location in the Washington Street in June to meet their growing numbers.

“We have expanded and our membership has increased and we felt that we were open for almost eight years. So it was time to find our home forever,” said director Katie Jones.

The landscape design was a small part of the upgrades to their new building.

You are looking for help on August 11th to 15th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to work on it.

“If you want to get to a place where people always laugh and smile and jokes and come to a place where you can hang around with the coolest people, this is the place where you can come,” said Jones.
