Mobberley Garden Designer heads BBC Gardener 'World Live Live

The two-time Rhs designer Callum Corrie from Mobberley, which was awarded a gold medal, impressed the judges of BBC Gardeners' World Live this week.

The annual gardener extravagance was opened on Thursday, June 12th, at the NEC in Birmingham. More than 90,000 visitors are expected to take part in the four -day event.

The latest design by Callum, The Gardeners of Tomorrow Project, contains playfully LEGO stones, strong colors and imaginative spaces to inspire young gardeners of the future.

The 26-year-old reflected his work with the Lego Group and said: “This year I applied for a garden in Gärtner World Live without a sponsor at that time.

“I popped my garden design so that they fit the Lego picture with bright colors, and luckily they loved it.”

Callum has been working tirelessly in Birmingham since May 31 and spent 12 hours a day, seven days a week to perfect the garden before the event.

“It's a great place,” said Callum.

“Everyone supports each other and asks how we continue. It is a really good atmosphere.

“That's why I like to make the shows so much because everyone helps each other.”

Callum spent weeks to fight volatile weather conditions, but said they had to go down.

On the mission to inspire young gardeners, he added: “I think it's a great hobby.

“As soon as you start with the garden, you will notice wild animals and pay attention to the seasons.

“In nature everything is increased that I think is very good for your well -being.

“The gardening of young people is an advantage for everyone.”

After gardening at the Reeasheath College in Nantwich, Callum's love for gardening blossomed during pandemic when he and his partner Gared Becky together.

In April 2024 he started his successful garden design business Callum Corrie Garden Design.
