UDHAMPUR, Jan 6: MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta held an important meeting with the officials of UEED (wastewater management) department and CEO of Udhampur municipality.
The focus of the discussion was on improving the sewage system in the city and effectively solving existing problems. The key highlights of the meeting included repair and expansion of sewer lines, plans to repair old and damaged sewer lines, discussion of proposals for laying new sewer lines in underdeveloped areas, improvement of drainage systems, etc.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on solving waterlogging problems, especially during the rainy season. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the drainage channels was also discussed.
With regard to environmental protection, the meeting decided that modern technologies should be used to make the sewage system more environmentally friendly and also proposed setting up new sewage treatment plants for efficient waste disposal.
The meeting also discussed plans to set up a helpline number and an e-governance system for quick redressal of complaints, as well as increasing the number of cleaners and providing advanced machinery for cleaning work.
Pawan Kumar Gupta assured that the sewerage system will soon be modernized and made more efficient to ensure that residents are not inconvenienced.
