Louraiseal McDonald: A Taste of Homemade Freshness | News

There's nothing better than fresh produce! Discover the benefits of a home-grown garden with the Virtual Growing and Nourishing Healthy Communities home garden course offered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service for Shelby, Rusk and Harrison counties.

This program is a three-session course offered virtually for free on the Zoom platform. Each session will take place from 10am to 12pm on the following dates: January 15th, January 22nd and January 29th. To receive the virtual link, prior registration is required. Sessions will be recorded if you are unable to attend at the above time.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about choosing a garden site, how to conduct a soil test and read the results, how to choose the best vegetables to grow in your county, how to identify garden pests and diseases, how to design a raised bed uses, how to harvest and store produce, how to prepare delicious, easy vegetable dishes and much more.

If you are looking for a fun, easy and practical gardening program to use at home or a way to incorporate more vegetables into your diet, then this course is for you.
