Lanikai home on the market for $3.4 million

Lanikai luxury could be yours for less than $4 million.

Just minutes from Lanikai and Kailua Beaches, a 2,450-square-foot home at 322 Lapa Place recently hit the market for $3.395 million.

“322 Lapa is positioned as a Lanikai asset with incredible value – offering space, privacy and intentional design without the oceanfront premium,” agent Dawn Kayano of Coldwell Banker Realty told Aloha State Daily via email. “While many homes in Lanikai sell for over $4 million, this property represents a rare opportunity to enjoy the Lanikai lifestyle at a more affordable price.”

According to Kayano, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home, built in 1967, is a “thoughtfully updated mid-century modern residence that combines timeless character with modern sustainability and the comforts of island living. The price reflects the owner's intent to attract buyers who will appreciate the property's artistic spaces, tranquil gardens and flexible living spaces in one of O'ahu's most desirable neighborhoods.”

She says the property offers a combination of a “generous” lot size – 12,908 square feet – a private setting and flexible living spaces, “qualities that are becoming increasingly rare in Lanikai.”

Sustainability features include photovoltaic panels, shared air conditioning units throughout the home and an electric vehicle charger, according to an announcement from Coldwell Banker Realty.

According to the agent, the other features of the house include:

  • A master suite with split air conditioning, fitted wardrobes and space for a seating area.
  • Three bedrooms on the second level, one with a kitchenette, private bathroom and outside access. The main floor also offers two “versatile bonus rooms.”
  • A renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a prep/bar sink, and a dedicated serving area.
  • Three covered verandas with views of the treetops, garden and partial sea, including the Mokulua Islands.
  • A landscaped garden with a stage, covered seating and meditation rooms, as well as a collection of ancient trees including haden mango, pomelo, la'amia and plumeria.
  • Parking for five vehicles.

For Kayano, there are many favorite features of the home.

“What stands out is the deep sense of calm that the house offers,” she says. “From the moment you walk through the front gate and step through the red front door, high, open beamed ceilings and abundant windows fill the space with natural light and offer views of green treetops and ocean views of the Mokulua Islands. The three covered lanais open to lush tropical gardens with mature fruit trees, allowing for comfortable indoor-outdoor living. The carefully landscaped garden includes areas for entertaining and quiet spaces for reflection. Each room feels intentionally in tune with nature “The property is something very special and unique.”

According to the HiCentral MLS, as of Friday, November 7, there are 17 homes actively listed for sale in the Lanikai neighborhood. The price ranges from $3.3 million to $16 million.
