The Just Stop Oil activists who tried to aim at Taylor Swift's private jet were found guilty of having damaged two aircraft criminal.
Jennifer Kowalski (29) and Cole Macdonald, 23, cut orange color on the aircraft last June.
They planned to address Ms. Swift's private jet, but the two aircraft they sprayed on belonged to an insurance company and an investment group.
The couple were found guilty on Thursday after a four -day process at the Chelmsford Crown Court.
To her defense, Ms. Kowalski said: “I thought a lot about what [Ms Swift] Could say – if we could attract your attention. If she saw this, it could get a reaction from her from a place to maintain a fan instead of a place of apathy – she is famous for how much she loves her fans, and yet her fans die due to climate change. “
During the trial, the public prosecutor argued that after the lawsuit, professional cleaning was required worth £ 12,000.
The accused argued that they lacked the necessary criminal intentions and explained that they had not made up to cause damage, and with the color they believed, they could easily be washed off and deliberately avoided to avoid engines and cockpits.
Richter Mill, however, decided that the damage was too serious for the right to free expression and assembly as part of the European convention on human rights.
Laura O'Brien, partner at Hodge Jones & Allen, who represents both accused, said: “It is certainly time for the government to concentrate on the climate crisis that threatens our existence instead of waste taxpayers who are involved in a peaceful act of protest and who are not a threat to the public.”
The conviction is planned for October 27th.
