Infineon extends the XDP ™ Digital Protection Product Family with new 48 -V -HIES -SWAP controllers that are optimized for AI servers -EEJournal

Munich, Germany-12. March 2025-Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) extends its family XDP ™ Digital Protection Product Family with the XDP711-001, a 48 V-wide input voltage area Digital SWAP controller with a programmable, safe operating area (SISA) control area (SoA) -Control processes for Hochpower AI servers. The controller offers superior monitoring and reporting via input and output voltage of ≤ 0.4 percent and system input current monitoring and reporting of ≤ 0.75 percent accuracy in the full ADC area, which improves error detection and reporting of the system.

The XDP711-001 Hot SWAP controller has the pulsed SOA current control technology for secure integration and switching in systems with non-optimal field effect transistors (FETS)-for the costs for the costs for a lower system costs for low-material systems (BOM). This new member of the XDP ™ product family is tailored to celebrate several MOSFETs in parallel and support high -performance designs, which becomes an important prerequisite for AI servers.

The XDP711-001 uses a three-block architecture that combines a high-precision telemetry for monitoring and error detection, which is optimized for power mosfets, and integrated gate drivers with a high power supply, which are up to eight N-channel-power-mosfets, with 4 kW, 6 kW and 8 KW-Power boards (PDB) to drive (PDB). The new hot -swap controller can work within an expansive 7 -V -V -BIS 80 -V input voltage area and withstand transient up to 100 V for 500 milliseconds, which provides the monitoring of the input performance and the reporting over ≤ 1.15 percent accuracy. It has a high -speed PMBUS ™ -composing active monitoring for improved system reliability. A programmable gate subdue during the heavy overcurrent (SoC) ensures a robust switch -off operation within only 1 microsecond. Other functions are Imon, Pmon and Surge Immunity, which ensure greater availability of systems. In addition, the fully digital operating mode minimizes the need for external components, which offers a compact solution and it makes an optimal adjustment for space -limited designs in a cost -effective way.

With options for external FET selection and one-time programming (OTP), the XDP711-001 offers flexibility for programming errors and warnings for the detection of D-glitch timers for various usage models. The analog supported digital mode (AADM) offers backward compatibility with analog hot swap controllers.

“The hot swap controller in Infineon XDP711-001 with its feature function, high-precision analog front-end as well as comprehensive health surveillance, telemetry, programmability and preset MOSFET soA will treat the challenges that are connected with the current design of Plugable AI Server Solutions,” said Magdalen-Boebel, Vice President Infineon. “By offering robust functionality and adaptability, the XDP711-001 illustrates the continuous commitment of infineon for innovations and sets new standards for system negligence for AI server and other applications such as network router and switch.”

The controller corresponds to the Portfolio Optimos ™ and Optimos ™ lineartfolio from Infineon for reliable and powerful system output.
