How you can design your garden as you can use water efficiently

We all know that we have to help save water, especially in our farms.

Utah Waterways and Slow The Flow work together to help several homeowners from Salt Lake Valley to repeat their yards to be drought, and they can learn a lot from the projects.

Morgan Saxton surprised the first winners, Greg and Lindsay, a young couple from Taylorsville with two dogs a few weeks ago.

This week she returned to visit the new farm and spoke to Kristyn Hansen from our nesting site, which made the design.

Kristyn said there are six steps when they make their garden more.

  1. Rate the website. Look at the floor, sunlight and all problem areas.
  2. Do you know your limits. Real estate line, fence lines and supply companies so that they do not plant in a bad area. Be sure!
  3. Rate your lifestyle needs. Take a look at how you want to use your space. Would you like, for example, an outdoor dining area, a scope for children or pets or a garden area?
  4. Prioritize a wish list. In this way you have a goal that you can work towards and not be caught on the way.
  5. Plan for functional zones in rooms. Get ideas at Localscapes.com.
  6. Use discounts before you do work.
