To the left of the large pool there is a cozy and functional outdoor kitchen with a grill, a long bar, a sink and a full dining table that is eight. The best of everything is that this pavilion room is completely reconsidered through a deck of the upper level in front of the main suite, which means that the homeowners and their guests can also gather outdoors during summer rainstorms. “You can enjoy the entire backyard experience,” says John Klimmek. “They wanted to take nature into nature and enjoy the backdrop.” On the adjacent side of the pool, a fire table made of dark porcelain is a perfect place to roast marshmallows. A calm orono property brings home the amenities of a SPA resort.

It is something that most of us wanted: to fill the essence of a luxury travel experience and bring it home. A family of orono has brought this dream to life in their 6,540 square meter house, which is located on the Luce Line State Trail and wetland protection. John Klimmek is a project manager at Gordon James, the building contractor of the house. “The homeowners fell in love with the lot and wanted to design the house around the surrounding area,” says Klimmek. “You travel a lot and wanted your own spa resort of Four Seasons.”

The homeowners worked with Gordon James and Everson Architect to design a house that would work for their active young family family and as a place for the entertainment of friends and family. “The ground floor is the living area with a remote primary suite on the one hand and the children's rooms on the other,” says Klimmek. Visitors enter through a walnut wood door to the main level, a quiet room with clean, straight lines and a neutral color palette made of black, dark gray, dark walnut and bright, creamy wooden tones. The open kitchen and living room are airy with room -high windows that offer a view of the pool and the surrounding wetland. The house itself sits on more than 8 hectares.

But it is the lower level, built into the slope where the house really grabs a blow. Inspired by the love of owners to luxury trips, including health clubs, the lower floor feels like a resort with a bar, an indoor fitness studio for children's basketball and dance parties, a sauna and a yoga room. Sliding doors separate a great outside terrace and a pool from the interiors and leave the view.

"Floating" Central staircase in Orono Home.

The heart of the house is the “floating” central staircase with white oak levels on a steel strip. “We did it so that there are no connections to the outer wall,” says John Klimmek. The lower fountain of the staircase has a pebble garden with plants and adds a reserved organic note. “It's your little Zen moment,” he says. The dark pebbles are the same stone that fills the electric sauna heater of the house, one of many details that give the house its luxury resort-like cohesion.

Regardless of whether you work through a solo yoga flow or organize guests for a mini retreat, the homeowners use their yoga room on a lower level, which offers plenty of space for mats and a great view of the quiet pool area. A walnut slatted wall separates the studio from a lounge room that is equipped with three comfortable chases. “This really became a great relaxation room,” says John Klimmek. Bamboo half-globe lights reflect the organic colors of the wetland over the courtyard.

Lower bar in Orono at home.

On the lower level there is a complete bar for cocktails (or post-yoga juice) back to the stairs to the theft of scenes. The dark porcelain plates, which form the vertical backdrop of the bar, are made by Porcelanosa, a traditional Spanish Tilemaker, and carried all the way up, where they form the back of the fireplace at the main level. “There are 27 porcelain plates in this wall,” says John Klimmek. “It took six weeks to install it and it's just beautiful.” The bar stools are padded in creamy fabric and, in contrast to the dark porcelain.

Sauna on a lower level in Orono Home.

The cherry on the spa resort atmobes of this house is the luxury sauna, which is located on the lower level of the Yoga Lounge. Instead of a traditional cedar that can have an orange tone, this sauna was built from teak spots, which was colored with a special wax treatment to match the darker wood in the rest of the house. The bank has a soft lighting below and the room is equipped with a Swiss heating system. A shower bath next door lets the sauna guests cool down after a steaming sesh, and you can grab towels and water from the sink right in front of the sauna door.
