Exeter Airport has published a virtual tour on its website with which travelers can digitally explore the airport in its entirety before their travels. The virtual tour has the parking spaces, check-in, the security, the downhill lounges and the goals and aims to reduce fear and make the airport process more accessible.
The Exeter Airport has teamed up with the Virtual Tour Experts, a company based in Sidmouth that specializes in accessible 360 ° tours. The service has the inclusion of British sign language and the sensory features such as ambient noise and daily and night modes to present different travel conditions. It also has an autopilot function that offers gradual instructions from the entrance to the gate to improve the finding.
From a commercial point of view, passengers can use the tour to book parking, search for duties -free offers and make the executive lounges accessible.
According to a survey carried out by the virtual tour experts, 97 percent rated the tours as an easy way to navigate, and 95 percent believed that this would increase trust when traveling.
“This project underlines our commitment to make the most accessible and inviting regional airports in Great Britain, and is designed in such a way that the trips become easier and more pleasant for everyone,” said Stephen Witshire, Managing Director of Exeter Airport. “We are proud to offer the passengers tools that not only make fear easier, but also make the planning of your trip simple, pleasant and integrative.”
“To be selected for the future of Air Mobility Accelerator was enormous confirmation of our mission to make travel more accessible,” commented Neil Henderson, Managing Director of the virtual tour experts. “We selected the exeter airport because it is a progressive regional center that has our values for inclusive and innovation. This project shows how airports of all sizes can use the haunting technology to reduce, build trust and create an invited journey for every passenger.”
