Eclipse from Moon's point of view when Lander takes pictures during the 'historical' event | Science, climate & tech news

The solar eclipse of this week was photographed from the moon's point of view.

But instead of being Moon eclipse that was seen by the earthIt was a solar eclipse on the moon.

The pictures were taken from a camera on board the unmanned Blue Ghost room vehicle which have successfully landed on the planet at the beginning of this month.

The operator Firefly Aerospace said it was the first time in history that a commercial company had actively operated on the moon during a solar eclipse.

In a total lunar eclipse, the earth is between the moon and sun and hides the moon from sunlight.

On Friday the moon became red in an event known as a blood moon. The full lunar eclipse was visible from North and South America, while in Great Britain only a partially lunar eclipse was visible.

The first picture of the moon's cosmic event shows the earth to hide the sun.

The solar eclipse can also be seen in a reflection of the solar panel of the landing in the same picture.

In a caption to X, which accompanied the photo of March 14, Firefly Aerospace wrote: “Blueghost caught her first look at the solar eclipse from the moon at 12.30 p.m. CDT – note that the bright light ring appeared in the reflection of our solar collection when the earth began to block the sun!”

A second picture that was taken from the landing site shows the “diamond ring” while the sun will be created shortly behind the earth.

A third photo showed that the Blue Ghost turned a reddish color during the event.

Firefly Aerospace said: “The red color is the result of the sunlight that is broken by the earth's atmosphere, since the sun is blocked by our planet and throws a shadow on the surface of the lunar. The bright ring of the solar eclipse can be seen again on the solar panel of the Blue Ghost.”

The three solar collectors from Blue Ghost have driven the research instruments of the landing for a 14-day mission on the moon.

The four -legged blue spirit, which is the size of a compact car, will be near an old volcanic ventilation on the mare crikus, a large pelvis in the northeastern corner of the ground side of the moon on March 2.

It wears 10 scientific payloads and uses 21 engines to lead to the touchdown.

It has a vacuum on board to suck moon dirt for the analysis, and a drill to measure the temperatures up to 10 feet.

Firefly Aerospace was the second private company that carried out a moon landing, even though it declared itself the first company that made a “fully successful” soft landing.

Odysseus Lander of the intuitive machine in Houstonon in Houstonon made a one -sided touchdown Last year he landed mostly intact, but many of his on board instruments.

In the past, only five nations were successful in Soft-Landings: the then Soviet Union, the USA, China, India and Japan.
