The Municipality of Saranda will intervene on two roads in Ksamil for the construction of pedestrian paths and the requalification of side fences.
The specific interventions on these roads will be determined in a procurement process opened this Friday.
The first is the intervention on the “Lefter Talo – Sami Frashëri” road with a length of 1054 meters. According to the document, sidewalks must be built for the street and the side fences on the interior streets must be replaced so that the existing street is not demolished.
“The project will begin with extensions to create pedestrian access where, according to the estimate, we will carry out excavation works, concrete construction works, transport and collection of materials as well as the layout of the site to continue the next phase, which is the construction of retaining walls to create the required width of 1.5m on each side of the road.
Next we will carry out work on the paving layers according to the typical road profile and also fill gravel behind the retaining walls. After completing this work, we will build the surrounding walls with a height of 70-90 cm, depending on the terrain, which will be covered with decorative stone slabs.
“A decorative iron grille with an average configuration with a bar diameter of 1 cm and a specific gravity of 0.79 kg, placed every 15 cm, is also installed on the wall,” the document says.
The next street to be intervened is “Ibrahim Rugova” with a length of 370 meters, where the construction of sidewalks and the rehabilitation of the side fences on the street will take place.
The project begins with extensions to create pedestrian crossings.
The limit fund for the procedure is estimated at 74.9 million lek or about 750,000 euros. The municipality considers this intervention necessary to bring the roads of Ksamil, considered one of the most visited and marketed destinations due to its tourist potential, into a suitable condition./ Monitor
