The Holy Kufri pond of the Chaurasi Temple, which is not suitable for drinking, warn doctors

Bharmaur: Pilgrims who drive to the manimahesh Yatra were warned against drinking water in the historic Chaurasi -Tempel complex in Bharmour, Chamba, against the St. Kufri pond.

According to a water test report of the microbiological department of the PT Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College in Chamba, it was found that the sample from the pond has a high number of E. coli, which means that it is not suitable for human consumption.

The doctors have warned that the consumption of contaminated water could lead to diarrhea, hepatitis and other water diseases.

It can be attributed to the infiltration of wastewater or other pollutants in the Holy Kufri, but temple management has not yet found an answer to the contamination.

Pilgrims often drink this water on their way to Manimahesh when you look at it holy.

Bharmour BJP MLA Dr. Janak Raj also spoke to the pilgrims not to drink the pond water this year.

“I ask all supporters to take this consultant seriously. The water is contaminated and can cause serious illnesses. Please only use safe, treated water during the Yatra,” he said.
