Barry, Andy, Trevor, Ray, Gren and Jim Christopher grew up in Mawnan Smith. The name of the Christopher is known in the village in which the boys say they had a pretty good childhood in reflection.
The 'Christopher's Boys' are now in the 1960s and 70s and organize a concert in memory of their parents John and Jean Christopher, both of whom did so much for the village in which the boys grew up.

Both John and Jean were leading lights in the Village Football Club and Jean was more than once the President of the WI. John died in 1982 when he was only 57 years old, but he would have been 100 this year and the concert marks this anniversary.
Jean died recently, just one day before her 86th birthday. They are both buried in the Mawnan 'Old' Church Churchyard on the cliffs at the entrance to the Helford River.
“A massive beech tree was blown down in a storm and completely demolished the old lychor of the church, which is now being restored,” said Jim.
“Most boys sang in the church choir at the time, so
He always sang and was a long-term member of the Treverva-male language choir. ”

Four of the six boys now sing in a variety of local male choir groups, the Celtic male ensemble, eight in a bar, Newquay MVC, Oll a Gwella, Stythians MVC, so a concert seemed to be the most suitable idea.
The concert will take place on Sunday, June 8th at 7.30 p.m. in the Mawnan 'Old' Church with eight in a bar and the Stythian Male Voice Choir with one or two surprises.
Admission is £ 7 at the door, with all revenue to the Lych Gate Restoration Fund.
