A Bengaluru resident has attracted widespread attention online after introducing his impressive rainwater use system, which collected more than 25,000 liters of water from a single rainfall of an evening.

Captain Santosh KC, a former officer of the Indian army (according to his X -Bio), took social media to share a video of his sustainable setup in which the efficiency of his water collection method was emphasized.

In his today's viral post on X he wrote: “Bangalore rain. Makes sustainable planning. 30 minutes of rain in the evening, and we collected about 25,000 liters of water.

The video presented a well -planned system with a warehouse tank and a network of pipes that efficiently guide the rainwater in certain reservoirs. Take a look at the video here:

Social media welcomes the initiative

The contribution quickly gained the increase and users praised Captain Santosh for his environmentally conscious efforts.

“Awesome, thanks for sharing, captain,” commented one user, while someone else praised it as a “inspiring initiative”.

Captain Santosh also took time to address questions about the rainwater harvest process. When he was asked about the water purity, he said

“Our surfaces are clean so that we do not clean at this moment. Farm water does not require cleaning at all. We are in installing rainwater filters for storing the household.”

When asked, he answered a question of how to separate water for domestic and agricultural use, and made it clear: “Separated from the source itself. One source runs to a storage tank of 16,000 liters and another to a farm tank armor with 12,000 liters.”

The importance of rainwater use

Rainwater use is an effective and environmentally friendly solution for water protection so that rain can be collected and stored instead of waste. The harvested water can be used for irrigation, household purposes and even drinking after proper filtration.

Bengalurus recent precipitation

In the meantime, Bengaluru experienced heavy rains at the weekend, which led to water logs and traffic jams in several areas. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city recorded 3.6 mm of precipitation on March 22.

Captain Santosh's initiative serves as proof of the effects of sustainable planning and inspires others to take on water protection practices in their own communities.
