Bayoulland Conservancy (BLC) is enthusiastic to announce the successful completion of his donation campaign of $ 62,000 to support the long-term protection and the restoration of Cindys Redbud Nature Preserve. This 176-hectare property is located south of Montgomery and is one of the last remaining areas of Texas Tall Grass Prairie-Weniger than 1%, of which there is still today. The first 88 acres were permanently protected by a phase -1 preservation of conservation with BLC, whereby future phases are to expand this protection across the entire landscape.

This milestone was celebrated on April 26, 2025 with a special event in the Preserve, in which donors, supporters and conservationists honor the joint commitment of the community to protect the natural heritage of Texas. “
We are proud to protect spaces that still reflect the natural heritage of this region, ”said Justinhicks, Bayou Land Conservancy's Board Stuhl.“ When Houston continues to grow, it is more important than ever to preserve wild places where local species can thrive, the floods work in a natural way and flow cleanly into our community. This project is a strong example of what happens Can work together when private landowners work together and a committed country trust.
The Preserve owned by Cindy Martin and Ray Audas protects local prairie grass, moist land and forested grassland. It offers habitat for rare and declining species, including the windmill grass in Texas and the Crested Caracara. The country also plays an important role in supporting clean water by filing drains and alleviating the downstream floods and not only makes its preservation an environmental priority – but a community investment.
“Redbud is full of life – from native grasses that in the wind, to birds that they simply no longer see,” said Cindy Martin.
The restoration efforts in the Preserve include prescribed burns and invasive removal in cooperation with the Department of Parks & Wildlife in Texas to return the country to its historical prairie and forest land character.
