The construction work is in full swing for the establishment of a monument for Avvaiyar in the village of Thulasiyapattinam near Vedaranyam. The monument, which is dedicated to the revered poet Avaiyar from the Sangam era, is built on a two hectare location in Avvaiyar Viswanatha Swamy Temple, in which there is a shrine for the saint composer.
Prime Minister MK Stalin had practically laid the foundation for the monument on November 13, 2024.
