Art installation in Green Mountain Falls to be demolished

GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS, Colo. (KOAA) – The “Off the Beaten Path” art installation in Green Mountain Falls is scheduled to be dismantled on October 19th.

If you haven't had a chance to take a look yet, you only have about a week left.

The art installation was created by Patrick Shearn and installed over the Green Mountain Falls pond last summer.

It was made from 6,000 feet of rope and 35,700 individual glowing ribbons.

As the structure moves, light reflects off and through the bands. The installation is designed to move and ripple with the wind.

“It's not like going to a museum and just looking at pictures. This is art that actually moves with the wind. And I just find it very vibrant and exciting to see it out here. If you haven't made it yet, I mean, come down and take a look before it's gone.”

Dana Ray traveled from Thornton, CO to view the exhibit

The installation is freely accessible and can be visited at any time of the day.
