Lincoln, Neb. (Klkn) – Homeowners and contractors are expected to feel the heat this summer – And not just from the sun.
When tariffs come into force, the price of products and materials becomes much more expensive.
Travis Kelso, owner of Freedom Construction, said he had recorded increases, but tried to limit the effects on his customers.
“While the world is turning, we cannot control everything,” he said. “So we definitely have to meet our prices with demand.”
He said his top priority was to make his customers happy shortly before the busy summer season.
Kelso recommends that its customers buy materials in advance before prices rise even higher.
“We had certain customers paid for their material that they only use in July,” he said. “But we have your material at hand and are ready to go. So if it increases this price or if it is already expected, we are ahead of this game for you.”
And with a tariff of 25% in objects such as aluminum, its suppliers keep it up to date.
“Whether aluminum, development, wood or the like,” he said. “Somehow we get a head and let ourselves be known that there will be a price increase.”
