BOCA RATON, Fla., November 10, 2025 – Applications are open for the City of Boca Raton's annual Deck The House Contest, where Boca Raton residents compete in multiple categories for trophies and yard signs for the best holiday decorations.
The city is encouraging its community to take their decorations out of storage and illuminate walls, roofs, doors and yards with bright lights.
Applicants must apply online by December 20th at 5:00 p.m. The winners will be announced on December 22nd via the city's social media platforms.
The rules, categories and instructions for the competition are as follows:
Participation is open to all residents of the City of Boca Raton and admission is free.
The decoration competition is for Outdoor decorations only. The assessment is based on the photos submitted with the application. Please include three photos and a video.
Submitted photos and videos will be judged based on the attractiveness of the submitted photos and videos from the street.
This competition is a fun, family-friendly event. Presentations should focus on holiday spirit and creativity.
Participants agree that photos of their decorated houses will be published on the city's website and social media channels.
Evaluation criteria:
● creativity (Originality, unique design or theme): 30%
● Lights and decorations (Display and placement): 25%
● Special effects (sound, animation, etc.): 15%
● Overall impression (effort and attractiveness): 30%
Judgment is based on the photos and videos submitted. Participants should ensure that all lights, animations and decorations work with the materials provided. Participants will be informed of the planned assessment date; However, schedule changes may be necessary due to weather.
