AIKO has announced a partnership with Futura Group Solar Construction to build the largest agricultural solar plant in Italy. This groundbreaking 48 MW project in Serramanna, Sardinia reflects the country's commitment to sustainable energy and innovative land use practices.
The project will utilize AIKO's advanced Stellar 1N+66 modules, which offer industry-leading power of 655W and an efficiency of over 24.2%. Designed for durability and reliability, these third-generation modules exhibit minimal degradation (≤1%) in the first year and maintain a low annual degradation rate of ≤0.35% in years 2-30.
Francesco Fanti, technical director of Futura Group, highlighted the key factors behind the developer's choice of AIKO as a module supplier, commenting: “AIKO modules offer superior energy production thanks to their lower ground cover level, which reduces shading and minimizes backtracking losses.” The The company’s proven track record as a leading cell manufacturer and the professionalism of its team in contract negotiations made AIKO the ideal partner for this project.”
“This collaboration represents a crucial step in the advancement of sustainable agricultural practices and the adoption of renewable energy,” added Beda Juliani Coma, AIKO Regional Director for Utilities for Southern Europe and the Balkans. “We are pleased to work with Futura Group on this milestone project.”
