A family in Crystal has turned their garden into a garden oasis.

It is 20 years in advance to do Tony and Lisa Beckstrom.

They started planting grass and hostas in their back yard when their children grew up and left at home.

“We had a back yard that was very nice and shady for us to relax, but there was no grass blade here,” said Tony. “It just took over and became a funny hobby.”

Over the years, they planted a variety of multi -year flowers and installed pergolas and homemade water.

When they had no more space, they built a rain garden in the front yard who brought some surprise visitors with them: pollinators.

“Many butterflies, a lot of large honey bees and these large, blurry flower types that attract these types of flowers,” said Tony.
