This includes the PVC and halogen-free thermoform blister system for products requiring low to medium WVTR. ACG also offers an environmentally friendly alternative with its Bio-D-PVC. The company's halogen-free cold-form blister system also provides a high-performance, sustainable solution without halogen and PVC.

“Joining ACG Packaging Materials at such a pivotal time is an incredible opportunity. “I am pleased to contribute to the company’s mission to advance innovative, sustainable packaging solutions worldwide,” said Scheil in the press release (1). With the introduction of these products and our continued commitment to reducing emissions, ACG is setting a new standard for sustainability in the pharmaceutical industry.”
“We are pleased to welcome Jochen to the team. His leadership skills and extensive experience in pharmaceutical packaging, coupled with his team's efforts to showcase our sustainable products and processes, will play a critical role in driving our European expansion,” said Sheikh Akbar Ali, General Manager, Development and Technology from ACG Packaging Materials, in the press release.
At the Pharmapack event, ACG will also showcase its new state-of-the-art storage and cutting facility, located at its European site in Croatia.
In October 2024, Pharmaceutical Technology EuropeTM Anil Andrade, Vice President of Global Sales at ACG World, met in Milan during CPHI to discuss the growing demand in the pharmaceutical industry and the efforts being made to achieve sustainable operations. In the interview, Andrade spoke about the changing perception of the industry and the importance of sustainability in pharmaceutical operations. Over the last 10 to 15 years, ACG has experienced global demand growth, particularly in Europe, North America and Asia. Andrade also emphasized sustainability efforts to reduce environmental impact (2).
“Producing capsules uses a lot of water and we have tried to make our processes more efficient so that they use less water, less paper and less plastic. In Croatia, for example, we reduced paper consumption by almost 25 tons in one year. The same goes for plastic: we have reduced plastic consumption by 25 tons, and that is linked to the benefits we see for the future,” Andrade explained.
