Entry in these centuries -old California bungalow is comparable to fresh air.
With its leaf environment and large windows that invite nature on every opportunity, the cozy family house serves as a cabin -like retreat in the middle of the busy Brunswick West, Vic.
But it wasn't always like that. When the owners of the 7 Wales Street had to take on it for the first time, it urgently needed some love.
The family committed architecture to repair and renovate the old house and maintain their character, but add modern frills.
“It started as a home that needed some love, and the result is a home that is warm, solid and functional,” says the owner.
From the street, the house presents a renovated time in an apartment, but quickly switches to a modern and spacious expansion that goes back from the original part of the house, increases ceilings and immerses itself in nature.
“Fernery and the integrated planter, which has grown to incredible dimensions, feels like outdoors,” explains the owner. “You always see the green through the windows.”
A series of established pines along the fence increases the cocoon effect, whereby the family installs integrated seating, firewood warehouse and a fireplace next to a new wooden deck.
It is a home that connects to the outside at every opportunity – its future owners will undoubtedly enjoy as well as the current owners.
7 Wales Street, Brunswick West is offered for sale with James Labiris and Liz Walker from Nelson Alexander and will go to the auction on Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m.
