Green burials must take place 48 to 72 hours from the time of death and approved by the local health authority.
The Health Committee will have a proven representative who can quickly approve environmentally friendly burials, in particular on weekends or public holidays, unless regular board meetings are held, said Bartels.
The Health Committee will also be in contact with the US centers for the control of the disease and the Ministry of Health in order to stay up to date on restrictions or requirements with regard to green burials.
