Patna: The JP Ganga Path in Patna is set to undergo a significant visual upgrade under the Patna Smart City project, with extensive beautification work underway along the riverfront road. One of the centerpieces of this development is the installation of large, 20-foot-tall decorative gates that will mark the entry points of the trail and highlight the cultural significance of the Ganges.

Officials confirmed that preparation of these structures has already begun. The goals are built with modern design, robust construction and powder coated finishes for durability. Their appearance is enhanced by stainless steel engravings with eleven mythological names of the Ganges – an attempt aimed at creating a deeper emotional connection between locals, visitors and the river's cultural heritage.
High-quality facade lighting will be installed on both sides of the gates, giving the entire route a majestic look after sunset. To add to the riverside attraction, a special signboard marking Ganga Bank Food Street will also be installed at the main entry point to strengthen the identity and attract more visitors to the area.

According to authorities, the installation of these gates will begin in full swing once the final locations are approved. They believe that this project will greatly enhance the beauty of JP Ganga Path and promote tourism. The gates will be named Bhagirathi, Dev Nadi, Mandakini, Sursarita, Jahnavi, Dhruvananda, Nadishwari, Amartarangini, Devpaga, Tripathaga and Alaknanda.
