Law firm hosts free Christmas party
• Correll Law Firm believes that Christmas magic shouldn't come with a high price tag and stressful, long lines. On Tuesday, December 9, from 3 to 7 p.m., the company will welcome Santa Claus to its offices at 1833 Plaza Drive in Winchester for a free photo session for the community. Trex named “Coolest Thing.”
• Trex composite decks were named “The Coolest Thing Made in Virginia” in the Rubber and Plastic Products category at the 2025 Virginia Manufacturing Cup. The Virginia Manufacturing Association's annual competition is a statewide program that recognizes ingenuity, craftsmanship and innovation throughout the Commonwealth. The Trex Company, headquartered in Winchester, is the inventor and world's largest manufacturer of decking made from wood alternatives. Winchester author publishes second children's book
• Rich Weller, a local author and digital media creator, will be at Solenberger's Hardware in Winchester on Dec. 20, where people can meet him and purchase signed copies of his books. His latest book is Maya's Magic Words. It is a prequel to The Story of Egan and the Encouragement Tree. The book is available on Amazon.
The local golf academy is celebrating its first year
• The David DeMay Golf Academy completed its first year with more than 100 students enrolled. Founded by David DeMay, a golf instructor and general manager with more than 30 years of experience at private and public clubs across the country, the academy has become a trusted destination for golf instruction. The academy originated at the Sly Fox Golf Club in Middletown, where it continues to thrive today. This year also marked the academy's expansion into indoor training thanks to a new partnership with Warrior Health & Fitness in Stephens City. The facility features a state-of-the-art Trackman golf simulator, allowing students to practice year-round with advanced golf lessons and virtual course play. Looking to the future, the Academy is preparing to unveil an exciting new initiative in 2026.
