BlueLinx Holdings has expanded its presence in the Western U.S. with the $96 million acquisition of Disdero Lumber Co., a distributor of premium specialty lumber products in Oregon.
The cash-financed deal reflects BlueLinx's continued push into the Pacific Northwest and its growing focus on high-margin specialty offerings. Adjusted for approximately $8 million in expected tax benefits, the transaction has a net value of approximately $88 million. BlueLinx said the acquisition will not have a material impact on the company's liquidity or leverage and is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings.
Based in Marietta, Georgia, BlueLinx sells a wide range of construction and industrial products through its network of distribution centers. It is ranked No. 63 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest private transportation companies in North America and No. 7 on the Building Materials Sectors list.
Disdero, based in Clackamas, Oregon, has been a value-added distributor of clear lumber and distinctive wood architectural features since 1953. Its products are primarily used in high-end residential, custom patio, and upscale multifamily and commercial construction projects, reaching customers in nearly every U.S. state. The company was previously privately owned by Tumac Lumber Co.

“This acquisition continues our western expansion and is intended to serve as a growth catalyst by leveraging our existing distribution network to offer Disdero's premium specialty products to many of our customers that Disdero does not currently serve,” said Shyam Reddy, President and CEO of BlueLinx. “We also plan to leverage our national footprint to serve and expand their existing business as a key component of BlueLinx’s strategic growth initiatives.”
The move builds on BlueLinx's recent efforts to strengthen its presence in the Pacific Northwest. Earlier this year, the company opened a new greenfield distribution center in Portland, Oregon, and previously acquired Vandermeer Forest Products, a Washington-based distributor.
Disdero's product line consists exclusively of specialty wood materials known for their clarity and appearance, a niche that complements BlueLinx's broader product catalog.
“We are excited to join BlueLinx and expect to take the successful Disdero business to the next level,” said Ryan Kline, President and CEO of Disdero.
