Mega Gyarados EX deck strategy
The strategy for using the Mega Gyarados EX deck is to equip your Mega Gyarados EX with the right energy so that it can deal damage as early as possible. You also need to make sure that your Magikarp is not under fire from your opponent.
This deck includes eight Pokemon cardsincluding Mantyke and Manaphy with 50 HP each. When the round begins, you must try to get one of the four 50 HP Pokémon cards as your active Pokémon and Magikarp as your bank card.
Remember that Magikarp will remain benched for the entire duration until it evolves. That's because we have to Save our Magikarp for Mega Gyarados EX.
Magikarp has 30 HP and can be easily knocked out by your opponent. On the other hand, it takes two turns to take down the 50 HP Pokemon (one turn if using Giovanni, which most opponents in today's decks don't). Mantyke and Manaphy can also generate energy for Mega Gyarados Ex, helping you prepare the beast to attack.
If you don't have any other Pokemon besides your active one, draw the required card using Lisia, May, or Pokeballs. You can also use the Professor's research to draw cards. If you have one Giant cape card in your hand, Use it on the Magikarp for +20 HP. This provides additional sustainability and prevents them from being shot at by Pokémon like Greninja.
By turn 3, you should have the Mega Gyarados EX card in your hand (I hope we're all that lucky), which you can then use. The sooner you evolve your Magikarp, the better it is. Use Misty to get more Energy on your Gyarados if they don't have the required four Energy to attack. Irida can get used to it Heal 40 HPand Red can be used to deal +20 damage to your opponent's active EX card.
Mega Gyarados EX can cause great damage (140 DMG) with each attack and discard the top three cards from your opponent's deck. It's a powerful deck when played correctly. However, you need to be careful in rounds 1 and 2 as your opponents may try to knock out both of your Magikarp.
However, we are still trying out deck combinations and any other changes will be updated. If you have any suggestions, feel free to comment below.
