Police in Mt Pleasant are investigating a possible drowning case after a man's body was recovered in Island Park on Sunday morning.
Police said emergency crews were called to the Island Park area at 8:22 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26. Police described the death as a “drowning incident.”
“Upon arrival, officers located a 47-year-old Mt Pleasant man deceased in the river,” police said in a statement on mpcityblog.
“This is an open and ongoing investigation, but no crime is suspected.”

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police, Mobile Medical Response, Isabella County Central Dispatch, the Isabella County Medical Examiner's Office and the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department.
