Three apartments are to be built in Pembridge in the nature reserve

The Corner House building in Pembridge currently has two apartments upstairs and it has been proposed to be converted into three studio apartments.

The building also houses the Bloom & Grind café and a pizzeria on the ground floor.

The plans, submitted by Hook Mason Ltd on behalf of Mr Craig Freese, said the aim was to improve housing options in the area.

The proposal is to create three self-contained one-bedroom apartments within the existing building footprint.

The Corner House, a late 19th or early 20th century red brick building, lies within the Pembridge Conservation Area and is attached to the Grade II listed Gate House.

Changes include interior work, including new partitions and sealing of two door openings.

The plans also include the removal of a 20th century rear chimney, which is not visible in the main elevations and is listed, and equivalent replacement of the existing windows.

A new conservation roof light is added.

The upstairs apartments will be accessible via the rear stairwell, while one apartment will be accessible via the existing lobby from the front facade.

The planning application can be commented on by the public until November 13th.

The decision is scheduled for December 10th.
