Swansgate shopping center to host Diwali Festival of Lights Celebration

The Swansgate Shopping Center in cooperation with the Wellingborough District Hindu Association (WDHA) is pleased to announce a lively and exciting Diwali Festival of Lights event for the Diwali Festival of Lights on Saturday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This free event invites the community to delve into the rich traditions of Diwali, the Hindu festival, which celebrates the triumph of good over evil and light over the darkness. The day will be fulfilled with dazzling cultural achievements, creative workshops and appealing activities for the whole family.

“We are very happy to bring Diwali's spirit to Swansgate,” said Fiona Stevens, marketing and tenant connection coordinator at the Swansgate Shopping Center. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for people with all backgrounds to come together and to experience the joy, color and culture of the festival of the lights. We are proud to work with WDHA to create a really unforgettable day for our community.”

Creative workshops: Find out the art of Rangoli with traditional art designs, decorate your own festive clay lamp in the DIYA Decorating Workshop and create complicated patterns at the Henna Art Corner.

Live entertainment: The central atrium will come to life with dynamic dance performances such as Bollywood, Garba and Bharatnatyam. A live DJ will also shoot at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with high-energy Bollywood, Punjabi and folk music to keep the celebrations going.

Family -friendly fun: Younger guests can enjoy a committed Rangoli maltores and lantern activity to create their own festive lantern.

“Diwali is a time for celebration, reflection and community,” said Ishver Patel MBE, coordinator of the Sanatan Hindu Mandir and Outreach near Wdha. “We are pleased to share our traditions with everyone at Swansgate and to celebrate the spirit of unity and light. We look forward to working with Swansgate to bring the community together during this festival.”
