SMRT buses begins in the New Gali Batu Bus Depot, the milestone marked in the green and more intelligent transport

Singapore: It is a big day for bus commuters and drivers, since SMRT buses officially executed with the brand new Gali Batu Bus Depot (GBBD). The depot, which was built by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), is not just another bus park. It is a greener, more intelligent and more efficient depot that sets the stage for a cleaner and more networked public transport system for everyone.

A proud first trip

The day was fulfilled when the first passenger bus rolled out of Gali Batu. It was officially deviated from the strides president Mr. Tan Peng Kuan and marked the beginning of the operations from this state-of-the-art depot.

Also there to celebrate the milestone, SMRT chairman Mr. Seah Moon Ming, who joined the team on a Gemba walk.

Mr. Seah also revealed a colorful “a happier workplace” mural, which symbolizes the efforts of SMRI to create a more supportive and positive environment for her employees. Why is this important for commuters

Most of us don't think much about where buses go when they are not on the go. However, the events that occur behind the scenes in places such as the new GBBD contribute to the fact that our daily trips remain smooth and reliable.

With more intelligent systems and more environmentally friendly technology, the new depot helps that buses become faster, clean and maintain. According to LTA, the Depot has 240 loading units for electronic buses with intelligent charging functions to optimize the charging speed. In addition, these chargers will also be equipped with real -time monitoring and diagnostic functions that aim to minimize breakdowns, to shorten the waiting times and create a more comfortable journey for everyone.

In addition, the depot is more environmentally friendly and environmentally friendly than others with its photovoltaic sun collectors that can output about 1.5 MWP. Other green features such as green roofs and water -saving systems are also part of this initiative. This is all part of the larger target to build a cleaner and sustainable transport system.

In addition, this depot was built to take into account the well -being of the bus captains and employees. In the chairman's speech, Mr. Seah said that “a gym, a lounge and resting places with the compliance of employees are here so that our bus captains and employees can rest, charge and feel at home.” If our drivers are supported and happy, passengers also feel the difference.

When SMRT chairman Mr. Seah Moon reminded everyone at the start, SMRI's mission is easy: to improve further – “good today, better tomorrow”.

The opening of Gali Batu Bus Depot marks another sensible step towards a more intelligent and environmentally friendly transport of the future, in which every trip is safer, cleaner and only a little better than the last.
