Ballia Bird Sanctuary Construction
The construction of the Jananayak Chandrashekhar University was discontinued after a case was submitted to him to build the building in the area, which is located within the boundaries of the bird protection area of Jay Prakash Narayan in the district of Uttar Pradesh. This was given in the report of the chief wilderness guard by Uttar Pradesh.
On September 19, 2025, the NGT heard the case submitted by Kumar Singh against the construction of the Jananayak Chandrashekhar University in Balia and in the waste water disposal center, Balia in Surha Tal (Hauptteich).
The applicant was that Jay Prakash Narayan Pakshi Vihar, Surha Tal, Basantpur in the Ballia district, which was declared a bird sanctuary by Ganga River. It is 4.5 km long and has a floor area of 34.32 km² that spreads in the larger area during the rainy season. Surha Tal is historically famous for a variety of birds and a famous bird sanctuary by Uttar Pradesh.
The application states that Surha Tal is a wetland and is trying to block the channels to rejuvenate the pond through the construction of the university and the waste disposal center. This affects the water inflow in the pond in addition to the birds it contains.
Uttar Pradesh's captain said that the area of the University of Jananayak Chandrashekhar is within the borders of the Jai Prakash Narayan bird sanctuary when he was discovered through the review of Google Earth images and extensive local demarcation.
On April 3, 2022, a case was registered by the Ministry of Forestry against the University registrar and the contractor Shivam Singh from DS Enterprises. The Court of Justice has been informed that “the construction of the university has remained since registered with the range of range No. 01/2022-23 and is still satisfied today”.
The NGT also influenced the influence on the exclusion of the university country from the borders of the bird protection area. Jananayak Chandrashekhar University was looking for four weeks to submit an answer. The court will hear the case next on December 18, 2025.
District survey report for Godda
The eastern bank of the NGT on September 19, 2025 took over the question of the incorrect district survey report (DSR) in the Godda District from Jharkhand. The court pointed out that the state environmental impact assessment (Seiaa) Jharkhand; Department of Mining and Geology, Jharkhand; State Expert Appraisal Authority, Jharkhand and Divisional Forest Officer, Godda enter an answer.
The applicant, a resident of the Bhagalpur district in Bihar, claimed to be directly and directly affected because the faulty DSR in the Godda district was prepared in Jharkhand.
According to the Applicant, An Order Should be passed for quashing and setting aside the DSR for Godda District as Approved by the Seiaa, Uttar Pradesh on March 21, 2023 and April 1, 2023. This was in Flagrant Violation of the EIA, 2006, Sustainable Sand Mining Management Guidelines 2016 and Enforcement & Monitoring Guidelines for Sand Mining (EMGSM) 2020 and Judgments Passed by the Supreme Court and the NGT said the applicant.
A fresh DSR should be prepared for Godda, and fresh auctions should be carried out after a post-push study for 2025 or the latest available post-disc study of a credible central or state institute was carried out, the applicant said. Any declaration of intent, environmental approval and mining lease contracts should, if granted, be put aside.
The application states that the DSR in the Banka district was not set up for public comments/hearings, although in the Gerua River, which is the state border. The draft of the DSR for Godda was approved by Seac on March 21, 2023, Jharkhand in a hurry. The SEAC did not notice that the DSR was created by a national accreditation committee for educational and training consultants (NABET) instead of the sub -department committee instructed by the Supreme Court.
STP near an educational institution in Budaun
On September 19, 2025, the NGT headed the district judge of Budaun and Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam to submit their reaction to the construction of a STP near an educational institution. The authorities were instructed to submit their answer at least one week before the next hearing date for December 19, 2025.
The applicant Ashish Kashyap was looking for compliance with the order of May 26, 2025 (OA No. 257/2025). The complainant had increased a complaint against the construction of a 15 -M sewage treatment plant (STP) by the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam at a distance of 208 meters from College Campus of the Asim Siddique Degree College.
The application was opposed by the tribunal by the decision of May 26, 2025. The NGT had instructed that the representation submitted by the Budaun district judge should be taken into account and the soil situation, in particular the effects of the STP on the college, was required. The Budaun district judge was instructed to take suitable remedial measures as soon as possible.
The applicant's lawyer asserted that the instruction of the tribunal has not yet been met and that the applicant's representation was not taken into account by the Budaun district judge and that no remedial measures were taken.
