Dalton, mass. – The cemetery inspectors will hold two information meetings in connection with green burials on the Ashuelot Cemetery.
These meetings will take place on Tuesday, September 16, at 1:30 p.m. and on Thursday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dalton Senior Center, with the aim of explaining which green burials answer and receive suggestions from residents.
According to the non -profit green grave trenches, Massachusetts, green burials or “natural burials” are a way to return body to earth after death without metal box, grave liner or vaulted or beaming.
The trust of the trustees is that a body can wear directly in a biodegradable coffin such as wood or coffin or only a biodegradable fabric cabinet or clothing.
Green burials would only be approved in a certain section of the Ashuelot Cemetery, section GB. They are delimited by barcers or decorative fences to separate it from the main area.
However, those who want to be buried alongside a family member in addition to a family member or partner in a separate section of the cemetery may have a green funeral if the square uses a vault with an open floor.
The next step for the city is to determine a Prudential -Care fee of 750 US dollars to ensure that the area is properly maintained if the soil is settled during the expiry process.
