The first summer edition of “Seoul Light DDP” ended on August 10 and attracted 510,000 visitors over 11 days despite extreme heat and heavy rain.
The event was held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza and in the surrounding areas of Hanyangdoseong and Igansumun and invited visitors to explore seven urgent installations instead of just looking at media facades.
The highlights included the water drops -fished “drops of light”, the media facade “Fluid Memory” on the city wall and the interactive “Flux” installation.
The festival returns on August 28 with “Seoul Light DDP 2025 Herbst”, the topic “Everflow: Moving Bühne” with works by the French concept artist Laurent Grasso, Digital Art Leaders d'rtrict and Taiwanese artist alias Chang.
The season will also be made up for the media art created with Openai-Sora platform with AI-generated media.
The program runs until September 7 and includes an opening laser performance and a forum on September 2 with participating artists.
